  1. HOW MUCH SPACE DO I NEED TO HANG THE HAMMOCK? (SEE TABLE)

SMALL

3 m.

MEDIUM

3,5 m.

LARGE

4 m.

SHORTY

2,5 m.

These distances are to be used as a reference.  If your distance is longer than this you can use a piece of rope to compensate for the extra.  If there is not enough space, you can also raise the height of the hooks, as long as the difference does not exceed 25-30 cm. In the product description you will find additional information on the minimum distance required..

  1. HOW DO I HANG MY HAMMOCK?

It is very simple.  Find two points which are separated by the required distance (see the table under number 2), and are at a height between 1.40 and 2.00 meters. Use the kind of hook that best suits the type of surface from which you are hanging the hammock.  There are special hooks for brick, concrete, wood, and also kits for hanging the hammock between 2 trees, porches, pergolas, etc.  There is also the possibility of wrapping a rope around the structure and not installing hooks.

Take a look at the section ACCESSORIES AND INSTALLATION  to find out what you need.

  1. WHY SHOULD I USE ROPE?

We recommend not to hang the hammock directly from a metal hook which can abrade the hammock.  Instead, we advise putting a piece of rope (Cape nautical) between the hook and the hammock.  This accomplishes 2 things: it avoids wear to the eye of the hammock, and makes it possible to easily adjust the hammock's height.

       5.    I DON'T KNOW HOW TO TIE KNOTS SAFELY. HOW SHOULD I TIE THE HAMMOCK?

You can find different options for tying your hammock on our website, under the section ACCESSORIES AND INSTALLATION

  1.  HOW HIGH SHOULD I HANG THE HAMMOCK?

When you're sitting in the hammock your feet should touch the ground, and your knees should be at 90 degree angle.

  1. CAN THE HAMMOCK BE WASHED?

Yes, our hammocks are 100% cotton, and can be machine-washed with the cold water cycle (maximum 20 ° C).  We recommend washing by hand.  After washing, simply hang the hammock up to try.

  1. HOW SHOULD I LIE INTO THE HAMMOCK?

 1                                            2                                                3

We recommend that you follow these 3 steps:  1. Open the hammock with both hands. - 2. Sit down inside it. - 3. Lie diagonally or perpendicularly, never along the length of the hammock.  Lie so your body is stretched (straight) and your weight is distributed across the width of the hammock.

  1. ARE THE HAMMOCKS INPROVED WITH THE SPREADER POLES?

Our hammocks are authentic South American products.  These do not utilize sticks at the ends. Hammocks with sticks have more drawbacks than benefits.  Carrying sticks in the two extremes make them very bulky and heavy, and therefore difficult to transport.  They cannot be machine-washed.  Most of them break due to the friction of the wooden stick on the cotton. Furthermore, they are more dangerous for children because they are easier to open and flip over. These are some of  the important reasons for choosing a hammock without sticks (spreader poles)

    10.   HOW MUCH WEIGHT CAN THE HAMMOCKS HOLD?

The maximum weight varies depending on the model and the size of the hammock.  For reference, though, small holds between 100 and 120 kgs, medium between 150 and 250 kgs, and large up to 300 kgs.

All our products contain the information on their maximum weights  in the item description.

11   I HAVE HEARD THAT USING HAMMOCKS CAN BE BAD FOR YOUR BACK.

If used correctly, using a hammock will not cause problems for one's back. One must simply lie down diagonally or perpendicularly, never along the length.  Many indigenous peoples sleep in hammocks everyday, and suffer no back problems.  So, if you hear someone says that hammocks are uncomfortable or that they hurt your back, it is only because they do not know how to properly use them.

  12.   CAN THE HAMMOCKS BE LEFT OUT IN THE OPEN?

In principle, most of them are cotton and nothing happens except that they occasionally get wet beacause we forget to bring them in one day.  However, they cannot be exposed to constant moisture because this causes cotton to deteriorate and lose quality.  If you want a hammock that is able to endure the weather we suggest natural fibers (Moriche).

The sun is also an enemy of vivid colors. If you want your hammock to be able to endure the impact of the sun, choose the Eco or Natural Dyed
